Symptoms associated with depression, anxiety, and trauma are some of the most common symptoms that may result in feelings and thoughts of unsafety and discomfort. Through psychotherapy individuals are able to reach a journey for healing.
Psychotherapy can be a cultural experience that can release fear and anxiety for persons of color who have suffered discrimination, microaggression, and trauma related to race, gender, and sexual identity. Dr. Brown subscribes to an intersectionality approach that creates safety as clients explore who they want to become.
Many individuals are not aware how trauma can negatively impact their physical (body), emotional (feelings), psychological (thoughts/behaviors) , and spiritual growth. A healing-centered approach focuses on the client's strengths, abilities, and personal goals.
